I first used a screwdriver and popped off all of the tacks on the seat. Then I removed the leather cover to see what was underneath.
It was in bad shape so I took off everything but the burlap at the bottom. I just was not up for removing all
of the nails and replacing it.
Then I cleaned the chair really well and painted it with the Annie Sloan Old Ochre. I love this color! I also distressed it a little with sand paper.
Then I purchased a foam square pad and covered it in a pretty fabric. I folded it like a present and used fabric glue to seal it to the foam. I then bought sticky velcro to apply the cushion to the burlap on the chair. This was my hubby's great idea so that I can change out the cushion later if I want a different color or print. I just love the birds on here!
Here is the finished chair.
I can't wait to find my next project. What are you working on??
